Severe Weather Information
Mon 21 Jan 2019Severe Snow/Ice Plan for Parents and Families
As we enter winter and start to have the first flurry of snow it is important that your
child is sent into school ready with appropriate warm coats, hats and gloves. Extreme bad weather can cause widespread and prolonged disruption. Schools are often
affected and it can be difficult to maintain an education service.
As a fundamental principle every effort must be made to keep schools open, even if
only limited numbers of pupils can attend. However schools may close due to ‘unavoidable’ circumstances. Those circumstances being that it is no longer safe for staff or pupils to be onsite.
We recognise that it is important our school remains open so parents are able to work and pupils can continue to learn. We will make every effort to prepare for severe snow/ice this winter by gritting pathways, clearing access points etc.
Please refer to the letters page for further information.

Wearing jewellery for PE
Fri 18 Jan 2019Reminder - Children should not wear jewellery to school, including any religiousjewellery. The only exception to this is the wearing of ear studs and even these have to be removed by the children for physical education. We are not able to tape over earrings
and it is not acceptable to miss PE for this reason.
