Volunteering at Bapchild
The Importance of Volunteers
At Bapchild & Tonge we welcome volunteers to support the work of the school and to support those wishing to gain experience in a school setting.
All volunteers at Bapchild & Tonge Primary School will be made to feel welcome. The types of activities that volunteers are engaged in include:
- Listening to children read
- Working with small groups of children
- Working alongside individual children within the classroom
- Accompanying school visits
Becoming a Volunteer
The school regularly receives offers of voluntary support and requests for voluntary placements which we welcome; however we are limited to the number of volunteers we can accommodate at one time. For this reason the school operates a volunteer waiting list system in accordance with our Volunteer Policy (below).
Anyone wishing to become a volunteer should complete the Volunteer Expression of Interest Form. Please can you contact the school office (office@bapchild.kent.sch.uk) to let us know that you have completed the form.
Bapchild & Tonge Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. If we are able to offer a voluntary placement, we will contact you to invite you in for an interview. An enhanced DBS check may be necessary according to the nature of the placement.
Thank you
