CE Primary School and Nursery

Rooted in God as our vine; we bear fruits.

Year 5 Highsted Christmas Collaborative Event

Once again, Year 5 are invited to participate in a community singing event in which local Primary and Secondary Schools come together to perform popular festive repertoire. Our children normally also gain opportunity to play some simple instrumental parts alongside the KS3 children.

This year our songs include the following...

Babe of Bethlehem

Do They Know Its Christmas?

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer/Holly Jolly Christmas

Walking in the Air - from The Snowman

Believe from 'The Polar Express'

Bapchild Year 5 Class will then give their own performance of 'Yes We Can' from Nativity 2 film.

Here are all the song lyrics to help you with your learning:

Here are some extra mp3 tracks ...

LB WALKING IN THE AIR - '25.mp3

What happens that day? - Thursday 4th December 2025

So this is a whole day event which ends with a performance. Year 5 walk to Highsted Grammar School after morning registration and then join the other schools for rehearsals of the songs they've been learning alongside some other fun warm up activities. They need to take a packed lunch and a couple of snacks to have at the two other breaks.

The day ends with a Concert which parents are invited to. Please note that due to the numbers of schools taking part, tickets are limited to one audience member per child. Sorry for any inconvenience may cause.

What to bring....

Children need to wear school uniform, comfortable footwear and a warm, water-proof coat.

They need a couple of snacks AND their packed lunch and water bottle.

Further details will be sent in a newsletter to Year 5 parents.
